World War I marked 1913 US Army Hospital Corps Model 1904 Springfield Armory Machete/Bolo Knife with original Leather Sheath.
Beginning in 1907 the manufacturers added a flaming bomb to the knives. Beginning in 1909 the scabbards were fitted with a steel belt loop and brass throat.
The blade is in excellent condition for it's age. nice clean sharp edge. Brass guard tight no wobble. Walnut wood handle scales are also in excellent condition. No chips or cracks. The blade is marked S A 1913 on the ricasso and U.S. ?1624 on the reverse.
I had a knife maker patch the throat and reinforce the edges. It now is almost indestructible. Sheath has tight stitching.
Brass metal hanger is in excellent condition.
